Iska Dhaaf to play New Earth Music Hall July 11

Seattle based duo Iska Dhaaf (translates from Somali roughly to "let it go") do not sound like a two-piece, that's for sure. On their debut album, Even the Sun Will BurnNathan Quiroga and Benjamin Verdoes blend elements of post-punk and psych-rock while maintaining a certain amount of poetic beauty to make the music appealing to a much wider audience. Tracks range from fast, hard, and raw, to utterly sweet, smooth, and charming.

They're on tour now in support of the album (dates below) and will be playing New Earth in Athens on July 11. I personally am quite looking forward to seeing Verdoes handling simultaneous duties on the drums, keys, and microphone. That's some serious multi tasking.

For a preview, check out their performance of "Everybody Knows" below.
